Our program incorporates all the aspects of a traditional math lesson, but students work in small groups, independently or with a partner. We start each class with an activator, move right into our mini-lesson, then we work on lesson work, fact fluency, a game related to our current topic or work with Mrs. Hornung in a small group. During this time, students get to practice what they have learned, get more support in an area of difficulty or be challenged by stretching their understanding and thinking flexibly.
For example, all three of the images I have used for this page have some type of math that we can talk about!
